Sharing assets wrecked our relationship
There are several relationship dealbreakers such as lying, deception and cheating. But sharing assets was never really seen to be a threat, until these revelations below. Several women share how buying a car or a house as a couple can destroy a relationship, if you’re not careful.
Jannette:
My marriage was great until we decided to share one car instead of having two. Most of the car payments came from my savings and anytime my husband wanted the car, he annoyed me by asking for his car when it was ours and I never once shoved my money in his face. It was like the car brought out his insecurities until one night we had a huge argument over the car and he said some things that have me still questioning if I want to stay in this marriage. We are a young couple and this is our first car together but I really cannot believe this is what is causing the problems.
Shanice:
My man and I were tired of renting apartments and we decided to buy a one bedroom together and boy, I tell you, I wish we never did that because from we moved in together in this house, it has been non-stop arguing. He even said that he wished he never moved me into his house, like I am not also paying mortgage. I think it was a wrong decision because we’re not married nor share children. I just thought we would last because we knew each other for 10 years and we had a fairly good relationship until this apartment.
Rushell:
I helped my ex to buy a car and it is like we argued over the car more than anything. He said I acted like he was entitled to take me from place to place or take me out. I got really tired of it so I broke up with him and sold the car. I will never do that again.

I think it is wise to wait for marriage before you invest as a couple because an asset such as a house is not an easy thing to manage when the relationship is on shaky grounds. I went through hell getting a house sold which was bought by me and my ex-fiancé. I learnt some life lessons so I would advise all women to think twice.
MS:
I wish I never moved in with my man and did all that I did for him. We were engaged so we were preparing ourselves for marriage, so he bought an apartment and I bought the car. We were doing great initially until he got promoted and bought his own car. Then when we had disagreements, he was always telling me to get out of his house. I felt used because when he needed my car, he would never say stuff like that until he got his own. I am about to move out and I called off the engagement.
