HAVE you ever had a lovemaking session that was so mind-blowing that you would be willing to do anything just to maintain that link? Well, chances are you are not the only one to have been so mesmerised by a man’s prowess that you would surrender to his will.
How will you know that his abilities have made you even a little bit silly? Sex therapist Dr Sidney McGill shares some of the signs that you are hooked, below:
You dismiss relationship standards
The moment he came into your life your relationship standards went out the window. All he brings to the table is his prowess in bed and suddenly it is okay that his job is unstable, that he doesn’t pay the bill when you are out, or contributes to any of the bills although he is staying with you.
You overlook serial infidelity
You turn a blind eye to his cheating, even though it hurts, because you do not want to get on his wrong side or you do not want him holding out on you. You also downplay his cheating, for example, you will say that a man will always be a man or that he is not cheating in your face or allowing the other woman or women to disrespect you, so you are fine.
You allow him to manipulate you for your money
In addition to what you gift him, he is also asking for big loans and you give him without paying much attention to whether or not he repays you.
You shower him with gifts
You will spend yourself into poverty by constantly buying the man expensive gifts, even though he doesn’t buy you anything. And this is all just to make him happy so that when you hit the sheets, he will blow your mind.
You will settle for being a side chick
You accept that you are not his number one but you want to hang on to him so you accept his offer to be a side chick. You stay committed to him even though he is not a one-woman man, and you constantly try to impress him in the hope that you will be promoted.
You take from your man to give him
Not only are you cheating on your partner with him, you use money and resources that your man gifts you or gives you unlimited access to, to feed his habits and for his upkeep.
You stalk him
You call him and hang up. You check his every post on social media, track his phone and demand that he always gives you his location so you can follow him secretly to make sure that he is telling the truth about where he is going.
You tend to do this not just because you are insecure, but because you don’t believe him that he is not sharing the “goods” with other women.
You feel empty without his lovemaking skills
You’ve realised that it is not even the man so much, but it is what he and his abilities do to you. You are constantly in need of it and when it is not close or you can’t have it, you are miserable.
