He wants to feel appreciated too
WOMEN place a lot of emphasis on what men should do or say to remind their partners just how much they love them. Unfortunately, oftentimes they neglect to show their men that they, too, are cherished and appreciated.
And most times, the men don’t even want much — it’s the little things that really matter to them.
Wayne, 26, risk management analyst:
I don’t believe I ask for much as I am really easy to please. But I don’t appreciate when a woman feels like she has to live up to a certain gender stereotype. What I am clear on, though, are these:
1. Be on time, please! God did not bless me with patience. I hate tardiness.
2. Let your words be your bond.
3. Be considerate — anything you’d want me to do for you, consider doing it for me too.
4. Be understanding and supportive.
Andre, 31, detective:
It doesn’t take a lot to please me. Knowing you are a good, faithful and loyal woman is underrated. As a bonus, though, I’d definitely say that a woman could make me feel even more special if she would give random gifts. It doesn’t have to be expensive, just something thoughtful. It could be one of those socks I match with my work suits. Also, just randomly saying “I love you” is a good refresher — it can brighten your day or your mood. “I appreciate you” also speaks to respect and value. These must match a woman’s actions or no thank you.
Kennoy, 30, teacher:
I try not to ask for much as I am actually very easy to please. The most important thing to me is a woman who is authentic and maintains this for as long as we are together. To keep the spark alive in our relationship, it would be nice if she could maybe not match, but put as much effort into making me as happy as I try I to make her. So small things like cuddling and a little surprise here and there, not just on my birthday, and just being spontaneous, are good.
Keith, 40, plant operator:
God knows that his gift to me would be a woman who is not annoying. Anyway, since He doesn’t seem to make those anymore, then at least just give me a minute of peace and quiet. Pausing with the nagging makes it to the top of my list of things that a woman can do to make me feel special, following at a close second by needing to stop accusing every man of cheating. I am not your ex! Then, of course, there are the other nice things like take me on a date nuh — invite me out. Pay the bill for once (if you are the one who takes me out). Set up a spa day instead of just saying babe I could do with a spa day and expect me just fork out the money. Next thing is put down your phone for a few minutes — how about we just reason and cuddle without you looking down at your phone every 20 seconds to reply to a chat?
Jamie, 39, business owner:
Take me out, walk me to my car, kiss me when I reach home and I’m leaving for work, love me with no boundaries, make breakfast for me before work, and when possible, prepare dinner so that it is ready when I get home.
