St James man charged in relation to 2022 shooting

ST JAMES, Jamaica – A St James man was slapped with three counts of shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm in relation to an October 2022 shooting incident in Green Pond, in the parish.

Charged is 23-year-old Brandean Cousley of Cornwall Courts.

Reports from the Montego Bay police are that about 10:15 pm on Wednesday, October 12, three men were sitting in a yard in the Green Pond community when they were approached by Cousley, who brandished a firearm and opened gunfire in their direction. The men ran to escape injury, after which their attacker escaped on foot in the area.

A report was later made to the police, and following an intensive investigation, Cousley was arrested and taken into custody on Friday. He was charged five days later, after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised.
