How did you find out your ex was cheating on you?
THE quote ‘ignorance is bliss’ is often used to express the tranquillity of people who are uninformed and quite content in their delusion. And we can all admit that sometimes, the truth is so hurtful, that many people would rather stay in the bliss of not knowing.
The people below were quite content in their ignorance, until their partners’ betrayal was discovered. For some, they would have been quite okay not knowing, as the reveal led to too many trust problems.
How did you find out your ex was cheating on you?
Kish, 38:
I was pregnant, and he went on a work programme for four months so he could make enough for the baby. He came back and was acting shady, so I logged into his Instagram. He was communicating with this girl, and in one message she sent an ultrasound picture with “I believe it’s a boy“. When I confronted him, he confessed that he had gotten her pregnant, but chose to stay with me. Anyway, that lasted just a couple weeks, until he packed up and went to be with her for good. That mashed me up bad for years.
Davia, 34:
The woman reached out to me, and she had her receipts. Even though he took Jesus off the cross that she was lying and he was innocent, her description of his body, and our bedroom, and certain quirks he had in bed, proved she was, in fact, the honest one.
Shim, 28:
His mother called me the wrong name, and began asking how I’d enjoyed her cooking. She then tried to play it off as a mistake. She hated me, so I knew her oopsie wasn’t really a mistake, and that she delighted in telling me that he had brought another girl home to dinner at her house, and delighted in my pain.
Francine, 36:
I went to a work event one Sunday, and he was supposed to stay home with our daughter and practise her spelling words with her. As soon as I got home, my four-year-old met me at the car, and told me about the woman with the “fat bottom” that my husband had taken her to lunch with, and how later in the evening, dad was Facetiming the same woman, and the woman was helping her practice. He couldn’t make up an excuse fast enough to compete with how fast, and with extreme accuracy, the child was spilling the details.
Kenise, 31:
She was brazen enough to leave her things in his car — earrings, used tissue with make-up stains, and women’s lotion. He initially tried to pin it on his co-worker who he gave a ride to sometimes, not remembering that the poor woman didn’t even wear jewellery or make-up.
Amara, 40:
The woman called my workplace and said she was pregnant for him, and he wanted her to do an abortion. I didn’t doubt her story that they had been together, but the joke was on her, because my husband had a vasectomy years ago. So he ended our marriage for a liar.
