ABIGAIL ABLE ON HER SECOND WINNER THIS SEASON

Jockey Abigail Able booted home her second winner for the season aboard the Jason DaCosta-trained Ianzha Links in a native-bred four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) call for the Cash Pot “Sprint” Trophy over 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m).

Ianzha Links settled in mid-pack down the stretch as Lady Pujarie (Samantha Fletcher) led the pack ahead of Silver Fox (Dane Dawkins), and Charmin Beauty, the mount of Jerome Innis. Navigating the half-mile (800m) turn, Ianzha Links got closer while in chase of the leaders Silver Fox and Lady Pujarie.

With the momentum going her way, Ianzha Links hit the front full of running shortly after turning for home and went on to win the event by 3 ¾ lengths ahead of JJThestriker (Phillip Parchment) and Silver Fox. The final time was 1:21.2.

FAUKLAND COMES GOOD

After many disappointing efforts, the Steven Todd-conditioned Faukland turned around his form to beat rivals in the Cash Pot “Win It” Trophy, a native-bred four-year-old and upwards event at one mile (1,600m).

Jockey Anthony Thomas broke Faukland well at the start of the race with the four-year-old bay gelding surging to the front leaving the intersection at the seven-furlong (1,400m) point in the contest. Faukland held a slim lead down the backstretch ahead of Jaxson (Reyan Lewis) with Hopenperseverance (Prince Holder) chasing from third place.

Faukland shook off the challenge from Jaxson and began to open up on the field entering the half-mile turn. Despite a late surge from ZD Eye (Andre Powell), Faukland was able to get home easily by a length and a quarter in a time of 1:44.3. ZD Eye finished second with Hopenperseverance finishing in third place.

NINA DORADA IN ONE SHAKE

Owned and trained by Lawrence Freemantle and ridden by Javaniel Patterson, Nina Dorada made one get up to land the Cash Pot “Play It” Trophy, a native-bred five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) going 6 ½ furlongs.

It was an even start for most of the runners in the seven-horse field and, as expected, Nina Dorada went straight to the lead ahead of Oh My Goodness (Shavon Townsend), Duke of Springs (Samantha Fletcher), and Golden Emperor (Jerome Innis) heading towards the last five furlongs (1,000m) of the contest.

Nina Dorada upped the tempo at the half-mile turn and looked comfortable entering the lane for the drive. With changes of holds and cracks of the whip, Nina Dorada got home by 2 ½ lengths.

Duke of Springs came with a run on the inside rails but had to settle for second money ahead of Oh My Goodness in third place. The final time for the event was 1:24.2.

ONE-TWO FINISH FOR TRAINER HENRY HARRISON JR

Owner/trainer Henry Harrison Jr had the distinction of sweeping the first two places in the Cash Pot “Rake” Trophy after Party Princess defeated Jamaican Storm in the five-year-old and up Optional Claiming ($180,000-$150,000) call at six furlongs (1,200m).

Ridden by Reyan Lewis, Party Princess settled in third place when the barriers opened as Shownomercey (Rudolph Paige) set the pace ahead of Dr Sahir Alexander (Ramon Nepare). Party Princess improved one place to second at the half-mile before picking up the lead approaching the distance.

Party Princess then kicked on in deep stretch, winning by 3 ¾ lengths ahead of her fast-finishing stablemate Jamaican Storm (Nicholas Hibbert). Dr Sahir Alexander finished third with the final time recorded at 1:18.1.

SEVEN HORSES CLAIMED

Rudolph Hardial claimed Flying Bullet for owner Ricardo Durrant from Joseph Thomas for $180,000 and Gary Crawford claimed Party Princess for owner Narco from Henry Harrison Jr, also for $180,000 from the fourth race.

In the fifth race Lincoln Lungs claimed Salah for owner Deleta Brewster from Winchester McIntosh, Donovan Plummer claimed Miss Linda Wray for owner Glendon Drummond from Norman Smith, and Donovan Russell claimed Kingswood for owner Charles Walsh from Paul Hylton. All three horses from the fifth event were claimed for $400,000 each.

Anthony Nunes claimed Blood Song for owner Stephan Narinesingh from Patrick Fong for $800,000, while Victor Williams claimed Daddy Jones for owner Steve Cunningham from Dennis Thwaites for $1 million from the sixth race.
