All set for Unruly Fest
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Anticipation is high for Unruly Fest, scheduled for Friday at Phillips Field Sports Complex in Yallahs, St Thomas.
The event will see a star-studded line-up of artistes. Among the featured acts will be Najeerii, Skillibeng, I-Wayne, Chronic Law, Fivio Foreign, and, of course, the conceptualiser and headliner Popcaan.
Brand coordinator of Pepsi Cola Jamaica, sponsors of Unruly Fest, Yanique Dawkins said all is in motion for the mega-festival’s staging tonight.
“[A]ll the logistics have been pretty seamless so far, which is good, because Christmas is always busy and it’s easy to miss things… but no, these people know what they’re doing and, as a sponsor, I’ve been very happy to work with them… I know that patrons are gonna have a great time,” she told Observer Online.
Dawkins further explained that her brand decided to collaborate with organisers because of the quality of the event.
“One of Pepsi’s mantras is music, and we’re always happy to be part of great events that are gonna cater to the audience. The artistes are gonna be fun, [and] everybody’s gonna have a good time. Popcaan is one of Jamaica’s biggest dancehall artistes [and] the line-up is amazing,” she said.
Unruly Fest was first held in 2018. The sold-out concert has seen appearances by Canadian rapper Drake, Tory Lanez, Bounty Killer, Cocoa Tea, Tanya Stephens, Bugle, I Wayne, Agent Sasco, Bush Man, Iba Mahr, Jah Vinci, Quada, Jah Frass, Nesbeth, and Richie Stephens, as it brought a much-needed entertainment boost to the parish of St Thomas.
