National Trials: Barnswell runs PB in qualifying round of men’s 100m
KINGSTON, Jamaica- Ramone Barnswell led the six athletes from this afternoon’s qualifying round of the men’s 100m into this evening’s first round on the first day of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Championships at the National Stadium.
Twenty-nine runners contested the qualifying round from which the top six will join the 24-ranked athletes in the first round.
Barnswell of MVP ran a personal best 10.23 seconds (1.9ms) for the fastest time, followed by Waseem Williams- 10.29m (1.6m/s), Sanjay Salmon- 10.33 seconds (0.9m/s) and Tyreke Wilson 10.35 seconds (1.6m/s) all of Elite Performance; Ricquan Graham of Wolmer’s Boys’ School- 10.37 seconds (1.6m/s) and Jayval Wright of Vere Technical – 10.40 seconds (1.1m/s).
