BZR WKND organisers urge patience among patrons amid Cardi B cancellation

KINGSTON, Jamaica—The BZR WKND team is urging patience among patrons after American rapper Cardi B cancelled her performance at the highly anticipated festival set to be held on October 18 at the National Stadium.

“We are aware of the recent developments surrounding BZR WKND Jamaica 2026, scheduled for October 18 at Jamaica’s National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica. We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding this event, and we recognise that fans and ticket holders are looking for clarity,” the event’s management team said in a social media post on Friday.

Additionally, the team said it is actively working through the latest developments and will share an official update as additional details are confirmed.

The Bodak Yellow singer who was set to headline the show broke her silence on Friday following the cancellation, apologising to disappointed fans while insisting that the circumstances surrounding her withdrawal were beyond her control.

The rapper said she had initially intended to let the official cancellation statement speak for itself but felt compelled to address the situation amid speculation about the reason for her withdrawal.

“Good morning, I wasn’t really gonna address this because I felt like the statement was enough, but clearly it wasn’t. First things first, I want to really, really apologise to Jamaica and to my Jamaican fans. The reason why I cancelled so late is because when I say I tried my best and I waited and I waited and I waited for things to get in place and together, but it didn’t,” she said.

The Grammy-winning artiste explained that she had been looking forward to visiting the island, particularly as the trip coincided with her birthday celebrations. She revealed that she had made arrangements to extend her stay in Jamaica for a vacation with friends and family following the performance.
