Sunshine Girls hoping to raise $41 million to head to 2023 World Cup
The Sunshine Girls are hoping to raise $1 million monthly to participate in the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa.
The official Instagram page of Netball Jamaica shared that the team has started a ‘Small Change, Big Difference’ fundraising campaign to foot the $41 million needed to send the girls to South Africa.
“You may support us using PayPal or our banking info…we look forward to your support as we try to raise 41 Million JM$ to send our Sunshine Girls, the new darlings of world netball and crowd favourites to the Netball World Cup in Africa 2023,” the caption read.
The campaign comes on the heels of the Sunshine Girls’ brilliant run in the Commonwealth Games where they copped silver and were beaten 55-51 by Australia at the NEC Arena in Birmingham, UK, snapping a five-match winning streak.
