KINGSTON, Jamaica – Tivoli Gardens and Portmore United have taken the lead after the first legs of their PFAJ Lynk Cup Knock-out quarter-final games played on Wednesday at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.

Tivoli Gardens beat Dunbeholden 2-0 in the first game of the double-header, while Portmore United came from a goal down to edge Molynes United 2-1.

The second legs will be played next week, while the other set of quarterfinals will start on Thursday with Cavalier FC meeting Mt Pleasant FA, and Harbour View and Chapleton Maroons facing off in the other game.

On Wednesday, Tommy Lawrence scored in the 40th minute for Tivoli Gardens, while Nickalia Fuller added to the lead in the 63rd minute.

Tivoli Gardens ended the game with 10 players after Barrington Bryce was sent off after he was shown a second yellow card in the game.

In the second game, Jermy Nelson gave Molynes the lead from the penalty spot in the 57th minute but Portmore hit back almost immediately when Stephen Young scored in the 59th minute.

Alvinus Myers, who came off the bench scored the winner in the 88th minute when he headed home at the far left post from a cross supplied by another substitute Alex Marshall.
