WATCH: Protesters amplify cries for justice in Donna-Lee Donaldson’s case

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Family and friends of 24-year-old Donna-Lee Donaldson staged another protest outside the Constant Spring Police Station in St Andrew this afternoon.

The protesters gathered seeking answers from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) following her disappearance.

Donaldson was reported missing on Wednesday, July 13.

“I am restless. If Donna-Lee Donaldson, my niece did leave her house to take a taxi or bus that nobody knows about then that would be different, you would treat that as a missing person,” said Donaldson’s uncle.

He added: “How up until today, nine days, and you’re still treating this as a missing person when is somebody take her from her house, and that person hasn’t been interrogated, questioned nor removed from front line duty; someone that was placed for us to put our trust in. When I see my niece leave that night I have no doubt she left with a police officer, she is safe. I never think in my mind that a foul play would go on with a police officer.”

The JCF, during a press conference on Monday, stated that the case of the missing woman is being treated as high priority though it withheld what it said were sensitive details of the matter.

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey, said he is satisfied that the protocol for missing persons is being observed to the letter.

“The investigation that is being conducted is about a person who went missing. It’s unfortunate and we are praying with the family that the person will be found but we have not only been doing a missing person investigation. We have expanded our investigation beyond that of a missing person. We are not taking a tunnel-vision approach,” Bailey said.
