Water supply disrupted in Trelawny due to power issues
TRELAWNY, Jamaica— Sections of Trelawny are now without water due to electrical challenges at three treatment plants in the parish, the National Water Commission (NWC) said.
The NWC issued an apology to its customers on Tuesday while advising that the treatment plants affected are the Dornoch Treatment Plant, Barnstaple Deepwell and the Queen of Spain Deepwell.
These plants serve several communities in the parish including Rio Bueno, Calabar, Brampton, Jackson Town, Samuel Prospect, Vale Royal, Hatfield, Farm Town, Arcadia, Grove, Middlemost, Barnstaple, Westwood, Stewart Town, Mahogony, Wakefield, Bounty Hall, Deeside, Drumilly, Hammersmith, Friendship, Bunkers Hill, Green Park and Falmouth.
“Every effort is being made to resolve the challenges and restore water supply to the affected areas in the shortest possible time,” the water company said.
“The NWC regrets any inconvenience caused and craves the patience and understanding of its valued customers,” it added.
