Company steps up support for youth rehabilitation centres
YOUNG ... the company wholeheartedly embraces its role as an agent of positive change

Company steps up support for youth rehabilitation centres

TALENT management company Trailblazing Entertainment is stepping up its support for at-risk-youths and is urging other private sector entities to do more for juvenile rehabilitation centres.

“We recognise the urgent need for increased investment in rehabilitation centres to support the needs of these young individuals who face a myriad of challenges and struggles,” Ron Young, director of Trailblazing, told the Jamaica Observer.

Young said his company has decided to take a bold step by addressing the pressing need for increased resources in rehabilitation centres across Jamaica through the WeTransform Programme.

According to Young, Trailblazing Entertainment is working with multi-talented creative Andrew “Blaize” Folkes to serve as a beacon of hope, inspiring change and advocating for private and public sector support for at-risk youth.

“Andrew Folkes truly epitomises the transformative power of resilience and inspiration. By aligning ourselves with such remarkable talents, who themselves are overcoming societal challenges, we aim to encourage society to invest more resources in rehabilitation programmes. Through these efforts, we can reshape the futures of these young men and women, empowering them to become productive citizens,” added Young.

He pointed to what he described as the alarming rise in crime and violence, particularly the formation of gangs involving young individuals across the island.

“The surge in these unsettling trends has highlighted the crucial need to allocate more resources to rehabilitation centres to effectively rehabilitate and positively transform young men and women so that they have alternatives to a life of crime.

“Since our recent establishment, Trailblazing Entertainment has become a staunch advocate for change,” declared Young as he noted that in recent years, communities across the nation have experienced a worrying outbreak of violence, a profound reflection on the lack of opportunities and mental struggles of young men.

“Issues like lack of guidance, mental health challenges, and social disconnection afflict them, leaving them vulnerable and in need of support,” said Young.

He declared that although newly formed, Trailblazing Entertainment has already gained a formidable reputation as an advocate for transforming at-risk youth as a means of bettering the country.

The company recently participated in Red Stripe’s townhall forum on responsible drinking and attended a day of mentorship for the boys at the WeTransform Programme.

“The company wholeheartedly embraces its role as an agent of positive change. We firmly believe that by investing in rehabilitation centres like the WeTransform Programme, society can foster a transformative environment for individuals and create safer communities and productive citizens.

“Trailblazing Entertainment remains steadfast in its mission to empower and uplift communities. By addressing critical issues such as the urgent need for increased investment in rehabilitation centres like the WeTransform Programme, we are striving to inspire swift action from governing bodies and corporations alike,” Young told the Observer.
