Scores benefit from Moesha’s back-to-school goodies
Children from eastern Kingston and surrounding communities were recipients of back-to-school items, courtesy of the Moesha Empowerment and Guidance Programme, run by Moesha Allen, at Windward Road Primary and Junior High School on Saturday.
From before noon, scores of children turned up at the school to benefit from much-needed supplies to prepare for the new academic year, set to begin a week from now.
Supplies were generated from sponsors in the United States, and Jamaica, with Ritchie Nevar of Ritchie’s Home Improvement and Construction Engineering in Massachusetts, USA, being the main donor.
Among the giveaways were laptop computers, drones, tablets, books, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, rulers, sharpeners, erasers, and school bags.
The children were kept entertained by a bounce-about, merry-go-roun and other symbols of fun.
Food and confectionery were also provided, while representatives of Government and non-Government agencies were on hand to advice mainly younger folk about how they may be able to improve their lives, generally.
