JFF Disciplinary Committee hears only 3 cases at last sitting
The Jamaica Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee had an easy day’s work at their latest sitting last week when only three cases were heard.
Among the players summoned was Tivoli Gardens captain and national striker Navion Boyd, who faced a charge of breaching Article 41.3.3 (Violent Conduct) for his action during the Digicel Premier League (DPL) match between his club and Sporting Central Academy at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex on December 6.
Boyd was found guilty of striking an opponent in the face and was fined $1,000 and a one-match suspension.
Rivoli United’s defender Fabian Gordon was given a similar $1,000 fine, but was suspended for two matches for a breach of Article 41.4 (Abusive Language). Gordon was reported to have directed foul and abusive language at the referee during the DPL match between Rivoli and Humble Lions FC on December 13 at the Spanish Town Prison Oval.
Meanwhile, Arnett Gardens club representative Roy Forbes was fined $500 and suspended for one match after being found guilty of breaching Article 28.3.10 (U-21, Abusive Language).
It was reported that Forbes directed foul and abusive language at a spectator during the JFF/PLCA National Under-21 League match between Arnett Gardens and Portmore United on December 4 at the Anthony Spaulding Complex.
