LIME lights up the Sunshine City
The Sunshine City buzzed with excitment and entertainment as communication giant LIME moved in on Monday to not only brighten Portmore with the lighting of a Christmas tree, but also 12 days of entertainment.
With the official opening the LIME Christmas Village Pon Di Remix. This entertainment hub in the middle of Portmore has a ‘Kiddie’s Cawna’ which features a candyland, rides with board games, a Winter Wonderland, Gingerbread house and a Grand Market. The Village also features a Blackberry Interactive Area.
Present to celebrate with the residents of Portmore and the LIME team were Portmore’s Mayor Keith Hinds who used the opportunity to show off his dance skills by dancing to Buju Banton’s Bogle. Also present were former Mayor George Lee, entertainer Chuck Fenda among other notable persons.
In addition to giveaways, the launch also featured entertainment from Sister Skully, a jonkonnu Parade and dancehall artistes Baby Cham and Bounty Killa. The dancehall gurus gave a ‘wicked’ performance and had the crowd in a sing-a-long to their singles another level and stronger.
Persons attending the launch were not only only on the receiving end as some donated toys and other gifts to the less fortunate of Portmore. Those benefitting will be from the donations will include the Cumberland Senior Club, Power of Faith Senior Club, Portmore Holiness Care Club, Faith Temple Senior Citizens’ Club and Portmore United Senior Citizens’s Club.
LIME Christmas Village Pon Di Remix will climax on December 24.
