CONNECTICUT-BASED artistes Papa Biggy and Coozie Mellers have teamed up to release two cultural tracks entitled Your Dreams and Your Pain.

Both tracks are penned by Papa Biggy who says he was inspired to write Your Dreams because he wanted to send a positive message.

“Your Dreams came from looking at life and seeing that people from all walks of life are losing faith in the system. A lot have given up and are committing suicide worlwide,” the conscious singer said. “It’s just something to say hold on to your dreams no matter what. What’s happening now is beyond recession, it’s depression, not only America, but Jamaica and everywhere,” the artiste continued.

Papa Biggy says he hopes that music lovers will focus on the words of the song and be inspired.

The second single Your Pain pays tribute to all true friends. “It’s all about that good friend who can feel your greatest needs, a true friend who stands beside you no matter what,” Biggy shared about the single recorded by Coozie Mellers.

According to Papa Biggy, he sent Your Pain to Wyclef Jean after penning it, hoping he would record it. But after leaving several messages and getting no response, he started looking for someone to do the song.

He met Coozie through a mutual friend, a musician called Attorney and the two enjoyed a good rapport.

Coozie Mellers liked the words of the song, so he took it home and put a rhythm to it.

“I fell in love with the rhythm and within 24 hours I wrote Your Dreams and that’s how the rhythm ended up with two tracks on it,” informed Biggy.

Since their release the songs have been enjoying a lot of buzz both in Jamaica and on the international scene.

Papa Biggy is no stranger to the music business. Over the years he has recorded tracks such as Under The Plane Wing, How You Plant Corn, Times of Trouble, Freedom To Mandela and Stop Dem among others.

In 2001, Papa Biggy migrated to the US. After a short break, he went back to producing music with the emergence of the Lifeforce Production Studio, partnering with long-time friend and business associate Richie Flex of Nocturnal Records and Ras David of Earthforce Music.

Last year the deejay released his latest album Return To The Front Line featuring gifted musicians such as Attorney, Johna Hex, Ras David, K-Swizz, Chris Christie, Dane Edwards, and gifted veteran guitarist Famma Roots.

Coozi Mellers who hails from St Andrew moved to the United States at the age of five. After completion of high school, Coozie, a trained musician, decided gave in to his passion and started touring as a guitarist with U-Roy, Jackie Mittoo, Mikey Jarrett, Lone Ranger, Prince Buster, among others, while being the opening act to kick-start his musical Journey.

Over the years, he has played bass, rhythm guitar, piano and arranged songs on albums for some of the founders of reggae such as Lee Scratch Perry, the late Sugar Minott, Horace Andy, Max Romeo, and Jackie Mittoo, to name a few. With his band Anthem, Coozie has toured Hawaii, Japan, Korea, Bermuda, Canada, the USA and either backed or shared the stage with names such as Third World, Jimmy Cliff, Maxi Priest, Burning Spear, Lucky Dube, The Wailers, The Isley Brothers, The Neville Brothers, Glen Jones, Tony Orlando, The Temptations, George Benson, Freddy Jackson, Big Youth, Barrington Levy, Gyptian, and a host of others.
