Earthquake jolts BVI
TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands (CMC) — Sections of the British Virgin Islands were rocked by a minor earthquake shortly after 7:00 am today.
The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) reports that the 3.4 magnitude quake had a recorded depth of 48 miles.
The epicentre of the tremor was located 19.8 miles north-northwest of the capital, Road Town.
The territory was last rocked by a significant tremor of 4.7 on April 6 this year.
