Cross Roads lock-up escapees recaptured
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — The police are reporting that the four men who escaped the Cross Roads Police Station lock-up by cutting through a metal grille on June 20 have been recaptured.
Two of the escapees, Rohan Brown, who was charged with robbery, and 23-year-old Richard Walker, who was charged with rape and buggery were recaptured on the night of June 20.
According to reports from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit, the other two, 19-year-old Eustace Powell of Lincoln Road, Kingston 5, who was charged with rape and buggery, and 29-year-old Sanjay Burton, otherwise called ‘Christopher Peart’ or ‘Michael’, of Tavern Avenue, Kingston 6, who was in custody on fraud-related charges, were recaptured on July 25 and July 2 respectively.
Powell, Brown and Walker have since been charged with escaping custody.
In the meantime, the police have lauded its members as well as members of the community for their efforts in recapturing the escapees.
