A profile picture and a witty direct message sparked a connection for Conner Jackson and Dr Carol Williams. Their leap of faith into a digital introduction soon blossomed into love, proving that for them, distance was no match for destiny. Their story culminated in nuptials on February 1, 2025, at The Wharf House in Montego Bay.

Their epic journey began in November 2023 on Hinge as Conner, from Virginia, connected with Carol, a Jamaican, then living in North Carolina. Conner’s witty opening salvo immediately intrigued and impressed Carol.

“Conner’s prompt to me on the app was ‘Oh, a doctor and a dime!’ And then I replied, ‘I’m about to go to bed, but just wanted you to know I thought this was funny!’’’ Carol shared with Tuesday Style Vows (TSV). For their first date, on December 10, Conner drove two-and-a-half hours from Virginia to North Carolina for dinner and a comedy show. From that moment, they were inseparable, talking constantly despite the distance.

While Carol may have been initially captivated by his charm, it was his support during a difficult period in her life that truly assured her he was her soulmate.

“In the chaos of a painful chapter of my life, Conner came along and brought me peace, standing by me, supporting me with patience and unconditional love. When most men would have walked away, he stayed. He was calm, loving and never once judged me,” Carol said.

On December 30, 2023, a celebration of their one-year anniversary would result in a surprise proposal.

“Conner meticulously planned every detail, even going as far as to enlist the talents for a hidden photographer and videographer. He told me we were going to brunch and then the lighthouse in Miami,” Carol recalled. “When he got down on one knee and proposed, I was shocked!”

The stage was set for a truly special day in Jamaica, expertly brought to life by Beautiful Creations Jamaica. For Conner and Carol, it was important that their wedding represented the joyous merging of two families and two worlds. Carol was adorned in a fit-and-flare gown from J Del Olmo Bridal Gallery while Conner wore a turquoise tuxedo. With her parents, Erica and Chully Williams, by her side, Carol walked up the aisle to the wedding classic Here Comes The Bride, rendered by violinist Michael Wilson, before the exchange of vows led by officiant Pastor Richard Balds.

The reception hall was catered by Rose Townsend. Following toasts, Carol and Conner cut their three-tier wedding cake, a combination of vanilla, red velvet, and fruitcake crafted by MightyFineThing. Their first dance to Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts, marked a beautiful start to their happily ever after. The newly-weds honeymooned in Paris, France.
