Arnett Gardens beat Federal United 6-0 in rescheduled JWPL game

KINGSTON, Jamaica—Arnett Gardens FC secured third place in the Jamaica Women’s Premier League after beating Federal United 6-0 in their rescheduled return round game played at Charlie Smith High School on Wednesday.

Tatyana Black scored a double for Arnett Gardens who improved to 45 points, six more than fourth placed Los Perfectos FC with one set of games to be played on Saturday.

Arnett Gardens will now face second placed Cavalier SC in the two-game semi-finals, while leaders and defending champions Frazsiers Whip FC will take on Los Perfectos FC in the other semi-final game for a place in the August 9 final, set for Jamaica College.

On Wednesday, Black scored in the 36th and 58th minutes to take her tally on the season to six goals after Shikira Douglas had opened the scoring in the eighth minute with her 31st goal of the season.

Sade Berry and Shanieka Young both got their first goals of the season for Arnett Gardens, while Tuanashae Hamilton scored her 11th goal in the 82nd minute of play.

At the Mile Gully Community Centre, Lara Kay Hanson and Sammara Findley both scored doubles for Mile Gully FC in their 5-0 win over Real MoBay AFC in their rescheduled game.
