Cocktail Hour @ D’ New Nostalgia Restaurant Day Club

In a city that never runs short on vibe or style, D’ New Nostalgia Restaurant Day Club is carving out its own lane — one defined by elevated leisure, indulgent flavours and a design-forward atmosphere that feels instantly transportive. The year-old eatery is among the new standouts on Montego Bay’s ever-evolving lifestyle scene, blending culinary confidence with laid-back luxury.

The aesthetic sets the tone. Inspired by the bohemian glamour of Taboo in Tulum, Mexico, and softened with Mediterranean coastal accents, the space is equal parts chic retreat and social playground. Warm neutrals and thoughtfully curated décor create an inviting flow throughout the space. Elements also include cabanas, plush day beds and elevated sky decks designed for both relaxation and revelry.

“My sister and I got a call last month that this business was up for sale. She suggested we come and look at it out of curiosity. I came inside and I was sold immediately. Decided then and there that we would take up the offer and we took over operations in March from the previous owner. We’re only making small tweaks to the different themes for the days, to include Taco Tuesdays and a Jamaica Day as well as some other ideas that we have,” stated Cadia Clarke-Simpson, manager, D’ New Nostalgia Restaurant Day Club.

“We want this business to be a win-win for the community. To make both tourists and locals feel welcomed. We’re expanding the food offerings to include more Jamaican dishes including stew peas with pigs’ tail and reintroducing Boston style jerk chicken as part of our food offerings. We’re also adding pizza options to our international cuisine options. The team is super excited at the possibilities and we know we can make this the best spot in Montego Bay,” Clarke-Simpson added.

The full-service kitchen and bar keep the space pumping. The service is seamless, attentive and well-paced with music in the background, allowing for no skips in the experience beat.

The menu celebrates bold Caribbean flavours while confidently crossing culinary borders. Jamaican favourites like oxtail and curry goat anchor the offerings, delivering the kind of satisfaction locals crave and visitors seekout. Seafood lovers are equally indulged with curried shrimp, lobster and fresh fish, while tacos and pastas add a global touch, appealing to both adventurous palates and comfort-food loyalists.

“The menu is a fusion of Jamaican and international cuisines, including Asian, Italian and Mexican. We focus on using the best possible local ingredients, natural and fresh, as we seek to make it a great experience for patrons. My love of fusing cuisines comes out in the menu and that also makes it possible for diners to find something they love in the options,” said Nicolet Johnson, chef.

Complementing the food is a cocktail programme that deserves its own applause. Crafted by a skilled mixologist, the drinks are as visually striking as they are balanced—refreshing, inventive and perfectly suited for sun-soaked afternoons.

“We want our patrons to have a feeling of comfort, have the best time and keep coming back because of the memories they’re making here. They’ll have the best experience as we strive to maintain excellent customer service, great food and entertainment. The nostalgia name says it all for us,” explained director Dwayne Clarke.
