MYAL was born from a desire to move illustration beyond the page and allow it to live on the body. As someone who values craftsmanship over excess, I never wanted to create clothing that felt disposable or dictated by trends. I wanted to create pieces that were intentional, deeply personal, and designed to endure.

The first expression of that vision is the robe.

As a petite woman, I often struggled to find robes that felt truly luxurious — beautifully made, thoughtfully proportioned, and designed with intention. Rather than continue searching, I decided to create what I couldn’t find.

MYAL robes are designed for a range of body types, from petite to plus, because true luxury should never be limited by size.

Every collection begins with the artwork. I do not simply place illustrations onto fabric; the artwork is the foundation from which every garment is conceived. Each print, silhouette, and detail is developed to preserve the integrity of the original illustration while creating something that feels effortless to wear.

Because I am both the artist and the founder, every decision is deeply personal — from the story each collection tells to the fit, fabrication, and feeling of every piece.

Jamaica remains my greatest creative influence. Its colour, rhythm, landscapes, and unwavering cultural confidence continue to shape the way I see the world and the way I create within it. MYAL is my way of honouring that inheritance while transforming it into something contemporary, wearable, and lasting.

Collection 01 is the beginning. It marks not only my first collection as a founder, but the continuation of a legacy that began long before me — a legacy rooted in Jamaican artistry, shaped by generations of creative excellence, and guided by a belief that art should be lived with as much as it is admired.
