Skillibeng enters iTunes Top 10 in 24 hours with ‘General’

International dancehall artiste Skillibeng has earned early chart success with his latest release, General, which entered the top 10 of the iTunes Reggae Singles Chart less than 24 hours after its official release.

The track highlights Skillibeng’s signature flow and lyrical style, with early reactions from fans on social media suggesting that the Crocodile Teeth hitmaker may have another popular release on his hands.

General features the St Thomas native’s trademark wordplay and intricate rhyme patterns, with the nearly two-minute track showcasing his ability as a songwriter and deejay. The release has also drawn attention from musical pundits who have praised its lyrical structure and delivery.

Skillibeng has built a reputation as one of dancehall’s notable lyricists, and the new single adds to a growing catalogue that has helped expand his international profile.

The song’s title has also sparked discussion among some social media users, with speculation about whether General contains messages directed at other artistes in the dancehall space. However, Skillibeng has not publicly indicated whether the track carries any hidden meaning or is simply a showcase of his lyrical ability.

The artiste is currently balancing an international tour with studio sessions as he continues to work on new music. General is currently positioned at number nine on the iTunes Reggae Singles Chart, with the song expected to continue gaining attention following its strong early performance.
