Air traffic controllers summoned to emergency meeting
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Labour and Social Security says it has scheduled an emergency conciliatory meeting for today at the ministry’s North Street office.
The meeting is between representatives from the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority and the Air Traffic Controllers Association.
A media release from the ministry said it is being called in an effort to have normalcy restored in light of industrial action taken in the form of a sick-out.
Little over a month ago, there were reports of protest actions by air traffic controllers which resulted in the delay of flights from the Norman Manley International Airport and the Donald Sangster Airport.
