Cops seize 2 guns from bicycle man in Westmoreland

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – The Whithorn police in Westmoreland yesterday arrested a man after seizing two firearms and several rounds of ammunition on the Petersfield main road in the parish.

The police have not released the identity of the man, saying instead that his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports are that about 2:30 pm, a police team was on patrol in the area when they reportedly spotted the man on a bicycle. The police say they were suspicious, so they approached and searched him. Two 9mm pistols as well as eight 9mm rounds of ammunition were reportedly taken from him.

He was subsequently arrested.
