Correctional officer among 2 men charged with insurance fraud
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A correctional officer is among two men who have been charged with insurance fraud.
The police report that 33-year-old Craig Graham, an operations director of a St Catherine address and 21-year-old Dwight Clarke a correctional officer of a Kingston address were arrested between Wednesday and Thursday for several offences.
Both were charged with conspiracy to defraud, forgery, uttering forged documents and obtaining money by means of forged documents.
According to the police a representative of an insurance company reported to the Fraud Squad on Monday that both men conspired with other people to submit fraudulent claims of over J$1 million.
Investigations revealed that the money was paid out to various policyholders’ bank account, which was then withdrawn and shared.
Both men are scheduled to appear before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Friday, August 28.
