Flash flood watch discontinued for low-lying and flood-prone areas
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Meteorological (Met) Service of Jamaica has discontinued a flash flood watch issued on Thursday for low-lying and flood prone areas of northern parishes, effective immediately.
A news release from the Met Service on Friday said a cold front, now across Jamaica, is projected to be east of the island later today.
Satellite imagery and Radar observations indicate a significant reduction in showery activity across northern parishes the news release said.
It said the forecast now is for showers to occur across inland areas of mainly eastern and central parishes.
The Met Service said it will continue to monitor the situation.
