George Lee Boulevard closed for repair this weekend
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) has advised that a section of George Lee Boulevard (Dawkins Drive) in Portmore will be reduced to single lane traffic to facilitate repairs this weekend.
The closure will be along the stretch leading to Highway 2000 NWA said in a release today.
The roadway is scheduled to be closed at 7:00 am on Saturday and reopen around 4:00 pm Sunday. During the closure, contractors working on behalf of the NWA will remove the deteriorated road surface, which will then be repaved.
Motorists and pedestrians are being advised to use one of the alternative routes that bypass the work zone. They are also being advised to proceed with caution during the period that the work is being undertaken and to obey the instructions of flag persons and posted warning signs.
The roadwork is part of a $28 million programme.
