High-level team of detectives heads to St James
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Police Commissioner Dr Carl Williams has dispatched a high-level team of detectives to St James to review a number of murder case files and provide guidance to their local colleagues, according to the communications arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). Headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Ealan Powell, head of the JCF’s Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), the team comprises of detectives from the CIB headquarters, Area One and several formations from across the island.
Among the areas of focus are:
– the completion of case files and the securing of evidential material
– preparing warrants of arrest for suspects and having them arrested and placed before the court without delay.
– identifying key witnesses and developing strategies to have them safely participate in court proceedings
