KINGSTON, Jamaica — Supreme Court Judge Justice David Batts is among five outstanding Kingston College Old Boys to be honoured at this year’s annual reunion and awards dinner of the Kingston College Old Boys Association (KCOBA) set to take place at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston this Saturday, November 1.

Justice Batts stirred much discussion last year when he reminded the police about the law as it relates to the stop-and-search of motor vehicles.

Other KC Old Boys to be honoured are Economics Lecturer at the University of the West Indies Mona and current Chairman of the Maritime Authority of Jamaica Dr Peter-John Gordon; Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Professor Paul Reese; Consultant Urologist Dr David Wan and Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon Dr Ray Fraser.  The awards are for exemplary service to Kingston College as well as service to the nation.

Guest speaker at this year’s reunion and awards dinner, scheduled to start at 6:30pm, is noted St George’s College Old Boy and general manager of the Jamaica National Building Society, Earl Jarrett.

The event will also see the soft launch of the 90th anniversary celebrations of Kingston College which will take place over the one year period starting on Founder’s Day April 16, 2015.

Kingston College was founded April 16, 1925 by Bishop Percival William Gibson. The KCOBA was established in September 1933 and held its first reunion dinner in April 1934. KCOBA Chapters also exist in North America.
