Over 100 students get scholarships from credit union
KINGSTON, Jamaica — More than 100 students received scholarships at the EduCom Cooperative Credit Union annual scholarship ceremony on Wednesday.
The function, held at the Knutsford Court Hotel in Kingston, saw a room filled to capacity, as parents, teachers and well-wishers attended to offer support and congratulations.
The scholarships, valued at J$2 million, were given across five categories to primary and tertiary level students.
Tamara Edwards Gordon, the mother of a Grade Six Achievement Test awardee, expressed thanks to EduCom and said she looks forward to it in years to come.
Guest speaker and Children’s Advocate Diahann Gordon Harrison pleaded with parents and children “to continue in this way”, during her presentation.
