US citizen among two charged for ganja
ST ANN, Jamaica – A US citizen was one of two men arrested and charged in St Ann earlier this week for possession of and dealing in ganja.
Blake Magnus, a 25-year-old trip advisor of South Carolina, USA was charged along with Trevor Donegan, a 25-year-old entrepreneur of Old Hope Road in St Andrew.
Both men were arrested and charged on Tuesday, January 19, after the vehicle in which they were travelling was stopped by the police and searched at about 3:30pm in the vicinity of Island Village, Ocho Rios.
Reports from the St Ann Proactive Investigation Unit are that two suitcases with vegetable matter resembling ganja were found. The men were taken before the St Ann’s Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court on Thursday where they pleaded not guilty and were offered bail in the sum of $200,000 each. They are expected to return to court on May 5.
