Women arrested in Manchester cocaine bust
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – Police in Manchester are reporting the arrest Wednesday of two women on the Spur Tree main road in the parish for breaches of the Dangerous Drug Act.
Reports are that about 11:20 pm lawmen were on operation when a Nissan motor vehicle in which the women were travelling was stopped. The vehicle was allegedly searched and two packages containing cocaine weighing approximately 4.4 pounds with an estimated street value of J$3.5 million was seized.
Both women were arrested. However, the police say their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
