Sadian Forrester tops regional AIDS poster competition
BUFF BAY, Portland – Sadian Forrester, 11 year-old student of Buff Bay Primary School, topped the Ministry of Education Region 2 ‘Lessons for Life’ poster competition, earning her school a television and video set.
Sadian, who is a member of the Buff Bay Lessons for Life club, highlighted activities such as buying gifts for and supporting children and parents affected with HIV/AIDS.
“I enjoy being a part of the club,” said Sadian.
“I use my own money to purchase gifts to support persons, especially the children. I buy things like pencils and books and things that I would use and that they use also.”
The poster took her two days to design, she said, adding that she had good support from her teacher and parents.
“I am proud to get the award for the school,” said the 11-year-old.
