Murdered cop’s kids get help
Halicon Holdings Ltd yesterday presented two cheques valued at $110,000 and $50,000 to the children of the late Inspector Lascelles Walsh – Labonnia and Donniel Walsh – to assist with their tuition and the purchase of school supplies.
The cheque for $110,000 went to Donniel, who attends Vaz Preparatory, while the cheque for $50,000 went to Labonnia, who attends St Andrew High School.
Halicon Holdings Ltd will also give the family a yearly grant of $160,000, until both children graduate from the schools they currently attend. This grant will be administered by the Community Relations Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).
Halicon Holdings handed over the cheques at the police commissioner’s Kingston office, yesterday.
Lascelles Walsh, popular for his traffic reports on Radio Jamaica, was murdered by gunmen earlier this year at a traffic light on Port Royal Street, downtown Kingston.
