Triple murder charge against Tesha Miller dropped
A triple murder charge against reputed Klansman gang leader Tesha Miller and his co-accused, Rohan Brown, was dropped when the men appeared in the Home Circuit Court yesterday.
The charge was withdrawn by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution because the sole witness in the matter could not be located.
Miller, 27, and Brown are, however, not in the clear regarding the matter as the case could be called up again if the witness is located.
Although the witness gave a statement to the police, the trial for the January 14, 2005 gun slaying of Oraine Jackson, Jeffery Johnson, and Nicole Allen in Braeton, St Catherine, could not proceed under Section 31 (d) of the Evidence Amendment Act, as the witness only referred to Miller by an alias name in the statement.
Both men are to remain in police custody as they are awaiting trial for the April 7, 2004 murder of Robert Haughton on St John’s Road in Spanish Town.
The trial, which is scheduled for early next year, will be conducted by way of the Evidence Act, as the sole eyewitness in the matter was killed by gunmen in Spanish Town last August.
