16-y-o student to answer ganja charge today
MONTEGO BAY, St James – A 16-year-old male student of the Green Pond High School is scheduled to appear in the St James Family Court today on a possession of ganja charge.
The police say the grade 11 student was found with the weed at about 11:00 am on Monday during random searches on the school compound by the lawmen. “The police were making checks on the premises when we saw the boy in a pair of tight pants. After he was told that his attire was inappropriate, the lawmen decided to search his pocket,” Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) liaison officer for St James Peter Salkey told the Observer West.
The search, Salkey said, later revealed that the boy had a little less than an ounce of the drug in his pocket. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
