Britney Spears’ Australian tour tickets on sale for just 55p

Hundreds of tickets for Britney Spears’ Australian tour have gone up for sale on eBay for as little as 55p following complaints about her miming.

The American pop star has faced a backlash Down Under after fans – who had paid up to £800 for tickets – walked out of her two-hour Circus shows and demanded their money back.

“It really is a circus,” said one male fan who walked out of the Melbourne show on Thursday. “She isn’t singing and she can’t dance. I’ve blown my dough.”

And Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper reports today that an investigation has found that hundreds of tickets for Miss Spears’ shows in Melbourne have been listed on eBay as the controversy over her lip-synching continues. The paper said dozens more tickets went on sale on Thursday after the pop princess failed to wow fans with her first Melbourne show on Wednesday evening. The starting price for some tickets has been as low as 55p.

Most fans are offering tickets in pairs or multiples, creating a buyers’ market with tickets being sold well under their face value of £90 or more. One ‘diamond class’ standing ticket for one of the upcoming Sydney concerts, valued at around £90, has sold for £14, with other more expensive tickets going for almost £50 lower than their face value.

Miss Spears, described as being hurt by cruel critical reviews of her opening shows in Perth, Western Australia, issued a statement earlier in the week saying she was not performing for the critics but for her fans.

But it is her fans who have now joined the critics in slamming her shows. The Herald Sun said that at the performance on Wednesday, fans walked out early in disgust at a lacklustre performance, with some demanding their money back.

Others were offering to give away premium tickets outside the show venue.

They said they had been promised a ‘dazzling display of music, dance, magic and theatrics’ at the year’s ‘biggest spectacle’, but instead they said they felt they had been ‘ripped off’. One fan told the paper: “If you’re going to mime, at least learn how to dance.’ And ticket seller Shaun Black said the Circus tour was a flop. ‘I’ll lose a lot of money with this tour,” he said.

One blogger wrote to the paper’s website saying she had heard from a friend who was an avid Britney fan and who had been ‘soooooo disappointed’, describing her performance as lazy, her costumes as lacking taste and criticising her short appearance on stage for ‘barely an hour’.

Another blogger said that if a lot of money was going to be paid for concert tickets “you’d better be prepared to deliver or suffer the wrath of the Australian public who, after all, know what good entertainment is, since we have so many talented artistes who put their all into their shows night after night.” – Daily Mail

Cindy Crawford sent picture of bound and gagged daughter in £60,000 blackmail bid by male model

Supermodel Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber have been the targets of an alleged blackmail plot involving a photo of their daughter bound and gagged.

The picture of eight-year-old Kaia tied to a chair was used to try to extort £60,000 from the couple, it is alleged.

Edis Kayalar, a German male model, has been charged in Los Angeles over the plot in which he is accused of repeatedly threatening to sell or release the photo, most recently this month.

The 26-year-old is believed to have stolen the picture from the couple’s nanny who had taken it during a “cops and robbers” game.

Kayalar, who has since been deported to Germany, was charged with one count of extortion, which carries a two-year maximum sentence. -Daily Mail

Are the cracks starting to show?

Sometimes make-up just can’t cover the cracks – as a bedraggled Lindsay Lohan’s chapped lips show.

The actress left the Bardot Bar in Hollywood looking weary and dishevelled after a week in which her father leaked stories to the press and suggested she could be dead within a year.

Although she had made an effort with her outfit, choosing a long white shirt, blue vest, black blazer and knee-high boots, nothing could hide the tell-tale signs of a girl feeling a little run-down.

Daniel Radcliffe denies smoking

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe today ‘categorically’ denied he had smoked a cannabis joint at a party after pictures emerged of him allegedly using the drug.

The 20-year-old actor was pictured on the front page of a tabloid newspaper allegedly smoking a cannabis joint at a party in North London.

But the film star said he had not smoked anything other than tobacco.

A spokeswoman for Radcliffe said: “Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this.”

The accusation came as a shock to fans and could well have landed him in trouble with bosses in charge of the family-friendly Harry Potter franchise.
