Holmwood take netball double

HOLMWOOD Technical captured both the Junior and Senior League titles in the Digicel/ISSA Rural Area High School girls Netball finals at Clarendon Park Courts in Clarendon last Friday.

They have now joined Edwin Allen High and Denbigh High as the only schools to have achieved the feat. In addition, Holmwood are yet to be defeated this season.

They will now be attempting to make it a clean sweep when they face Urban Area champions The Queen’s School and St Hugh’s High in the All-Island Junior and Senior leagues, respectively, on Thursday, at Clarendon Park.

Holmwood won both titles by defeating Denbigh High 30-20 and Manchester High 47-17 goals in the Junior and Senior League finals, respectively.

Meanwhile, winning coach Carline Graham said: “I am really elated to have won both titles as the players had it in them and went all out to claim them (the titles).”
