U-20 Canadians on 10-day camp in Florida
OTTAWA, Canada (CMC) — Canada’s Under-20 women’s squad, who will battle alongside three Caribbean teams in next month’s CONCACAF Finals, will start a 10-day camp this weekend in Florida.
Coach Carolina Morace will have 23 players in the camp at Boca Raton’s Florida Atlantic University.
Canada, the defending champions, will be facing Cuba, hosts Guatemala and Costa Rica in Group A matches at the January 20-30 CONCACAF Finals that will qualify three teams for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Germany next summer.
Group B comprises Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, reigning World Champions USA, and Mexico.
The group winners will play the runners-up from the opposite group on January 28, with the championship and third-place matches set for Saturday, January 30.
The finalists and third-place team will qualify for next year’s FIFA U20 World Cup in Germany July 13 to August 1.
