Georges stun leaders H’View in U-21
ST Georges SC, through Demar Easington’s ninth-minute penalty, defeated leaders Harbour View 1-0 in their JFF Under-21 League match at Lynch Park on Friday.
The defeat was Harbour View’s second of the season, but they still sit four points clear atop the standings, ahead of Tivoli with 34.
In other games, Tivoli blanked August Town 4-0; Sporting Central Academy stopped Arnett Gardens 1-0; Waterhouse beat Village 2-0, while the game between Boys’ Town and Rivoli ended 0-0.
At UWI Bowl, Ricardo Stern, Jeffrey Grant, Michael Spence and Kevin scored a goal each as Tivoli defeated hosts August Town.
At Brancourt, Damarley Samuels scored the game’s only goal eight minutes from time as the home team, Sporting Central, clipped visiting Arnett Gardens by the lone goal.
At Drewsland, DeAndre Brown scored in the fifth and Kemar Thomas in the 34th minute for Waterhouse to turn back Village.
Harbour View lead the league with 34 points, followed by Tivoli on 30, Waterhouse 29, Portmore — who were down to play a late game, 29 — Arnett 23, Sporting Central 19, Boys’ Town and Village 17.
