Porus, Georges Valley for U-17 final
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Porus Academy and Georges Valley advanced to the final of the Manchester Football Association/Powers Services Under-17 competition with contrasting semi-final victories over Land Settlement and Mile Gully, respectively, on Wednesday at Brooks Park.
In the first game of the double-header, Georges Valley clipped Mile Gully 2-1 with goals from Shaquille Parker in the 11th minute and Ricardo Hamilton in the 66th, while Roshawn Davis pulled one back for Mile Gully in the 77th minute to set up a tense last 13 minutes.
In the feature game, Porus routed Settlement 5-1 with Sebastian Williamson netting a brace.
Williamson scored in the 6th and 79th minutes, while Kevaughn Isaacs (19th), Llewellyn Woodburn (71st) and Casan Clarke (78th) added further goals for Porus to set up a meeting with Georges Valley next Wednesday at Brooks Park.
