Saturday Hustle – July 10

Saturday Hustle – July 10

The mercury is climbing and so is our appetite for hot tracks. Saturday Hustle in honour of summer is bringing the heat with these tracks.

Summerboy, Lady GaGa

The eccentric artiste reintroduces the age-old notion of a summer fling to a new generation of listeners on her still-potent 2009 released album– The Fame Monster.

“Hey there summer boy, ain’t got much time/Hurry up before I change my mind.”

After Tonight, Justin Nozuka

This track, with its beautiful acoustic guitar solos and airy vocals, paints images of starry summer nights that make love seem that much more magical.

Holiday, Ding Dong featuring Chevaughn Clayton

Dancer-cum-deejay Ding Dong’s most successful musical effort has become the definitive summer song; an ode to the beach, partying and looking ‘fly’ without a dollar.

Pocketful of Sunshine, Natasha Bedingfield

The Brit is used to wet, grey days so it was perhaps most fitting that she used the sunshine and all things summery as an analogy for confidence and self-love.

“I got a pocket/got a pocket full of sunshine/ I’ve got a love and I know that it’s all mine…/Do what you want but you’re never gonna break me.”

In The Summertime, Shaggy

International reggae superstar Shaggy’s song will always find relevance on this playlist: “In the summertime when the weather is high/And you could stretch right up and touch the sky/Now when the weather is fine/You got women, you got women on your mind.” Need we say more?

Thong Song, Sisqó

Former Dru Hill frontman found fame once again in 1999 with this beach-friendly solo hit featured on his album Unleash The Dragon.

My Cupp, Richie Loop

“What’s in my cup, stays in my cup” sings Richie Loop on this track that speaks to chilling at all the best parties and managing to look cool while doing so.
