Lady Gaga angers Beatles fans by playing John Lennon’s piano
Controversial: Lady Gaga playing on Sean Lennon's piano, a gift from his father John to his mother Yoko Ono.

Lady Gaga angers Beatles fans by playing John Lennon’s piano

Lady Gaga’s devoted “little monsters” would follow her anywhere.

But they have someway to go until they can match The Beatles fans for dedication. Forty years after the band went their separate ways, devotees have been attacking John Lennon’s son Sean for allowing the modern pop star to play on their hero’s piano. Sean had tweeted a photo of the fishnet-clad Gaga seated at the white grand piano.

But in response to a barrage of criticism, he removed the snap of his friend. Beatles fans raged that Gaga wasn’t worthy to play the relic. Sean pointed out: “Pianos are meant to be played. Why is everyone so uptight? What should we do, lock it away in a dusty room? So judgemental…” When the criticism continued, he added: “come on, lighten up…life’s too short, there’re enough real problems in the world . . .

Firstly, he gave that piano to my mother for her birthday, it is hers, secondly, he was not uptight the way you seem to be.” Poker Face singer Gaga may produce modern pop songs, but she is also an accomplished pianist.

She was a child prodigy on the instrument, playing from age four and writing her first piano ballad at the age of 13. While Beatles fans were concerned that Gaga was playing Lennon’s piano, her fans were sleeping in the overheated New York streets for a chance to see her play on the Today show. Gaga tweeted encouragement: “Thousands of precious lil’ monsters are sleeping in street outside Today Show. May NY watch over you, and may you sleep smiling under the stars. Amen.”

Not all cast members ‘singing’ about Britney Spears Glee episode

They’ve paid homage to Madonna and Lady Gaga, now the cast of Glee are set to take on the hits of one Miss Britney Spears.

After much speculation, series creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed there will indeed be an episode inspired by the singer in season two of Glee. He tells US television show Entertainment Tonight: “We are writing a Britney Spears episode.”

He did not reveal any further details or whether Britney herself will appear on the show. But at least one cast member won’t be too thrilled with the idea the special episode has received the green light. Matthew Morrison, who plays Glee club teacher Will Shuester, was asked in May about his thoughts about a Britney episode. He responded: “That’s a rumour her manager started. I hope our show doesn’t go along that route.”

A very Happy Birthday! Jessica Simpson frolics with new boyfriend as she turns 30

Now that’s a birthday kiss.

Jessica Simpson turned 30 on Saturday and celebrated with a romantic boat trip with her new man, Eric Johnson. The reality TV star and her boyfriend of three months, a former NFL player, shared a steamy kiss aboard a luxury yacht in Capri, Italy.

Jessica has not had the best luck with men in the past, but it seems this new relationship has already become serious. The two have been seen walking round the ancient town and shopping for jewellery.

On Saturday, Jessica’s actual birthday, they walked hand in hand from their hotel to the marina where they boarded the yacht. Jessica, who has previously dated Dallas Cowboy star Tony Romo and musician John Mayer, began dating Johnson in May, three months after he split from his wife.
