R’Hall, Holland seek basketball lead
RHODES HALL, Hanover — The winner of today’s game between hosts Rhodes Hall and Holland High will take over sole leadership in the U-16 section of the ISSA/Western Conference high schools basketball competition.
Rhodes Hall, who have already played eight games, are tied on 12 points with Muschett and Cornwall College, who have played a game less, while Holland, who have played six games, are on 11 points.
Rhodes Hall are seeking to rebound from a 49-28 loss to Cornwall on Monday, while Holland beat Herbert Morrison on Friday.
Also today, Irwin High will take on Muschett as they seek their first win after six straight losses in the U-19s.
On Monday, Cornwall beat both Rhodes Hall and Mannings in the U-16 and U-19 categories to complete a season sweep over both.
In the Junior section, Cornwall prevailed 49-28 thanks to 16 points and 18 rebounds from Romaine Hinds and 14 points from Rashid Davis.
Christopher Ray Smith got 35 points, 27 rebounds and 15 blocks as Cornwall ran out 81-59 winners.
Also on Monday, Holland beat Spot Valley, 35-22, in the U-16, while Spot Valley beat Irwin, 65-35.
