Magnum powers Fresh Fridays
THE inclement weather last Friday did little to dampen the party vibe inside the Limelight Club in Half-Way-Tree, as patrons turned out to party.
Braving the chilly winds a solid number of party faithfuls ensured that the Magnum-sponsored event was a successful night of fun and maximum enjoyment.
A mixture of style, spunk and urban chic dictated the overall fashionable attire of the gathering, with a few of the ladies opting for more risque ensembles. However, the strongest fashion statements on the night were made by the ladies in exquisite heels, who went all out to ensure that their shoe game was flawless.
The Fresh Team of selectors, which included Arif ‘Supa Coop’ Cooper, Scientist, Krazy Dean, Doctor C and Santana, got the ladies stepping in the early hours to an expertly laid out party soundtrack that seamlessly cut across genres. Shortly after 2 am, the crowd was dancing to cuts from Assassin, Elephant Man, Vybz Kartel and Erup. The Kartel tune Beyonce Wine brought out the best of the ladies on the dance floor, and the moves were executed with much style by the two Magnum girls.
The Fresh Team, which benefited from a guest appearance by The Party Animal Kurt Riley, who soon switched the beat and served up a hot round of soca that had waist lines in perpetual motion. The next musical section was pop and R&B perfection that featured hit songs from Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and Usher. The musical pace slowed down significantly with reggae ballads from the likes of Jah Cure, Richie Spice, Tarrus Riley and Beres Hammond.
Even as intermittent rain continued outside, patrons were still making their way into the venue after 3:00 am and taking advantage of special Magnum bucket deals.
Dancehall artistes Future Fambo and Chi Ching Ching were among the throng of patrons thoroughly soaking up the party vibe as The Fresh Team played tunes such as Vybz Kartel’s Dumpa Truck, Swaggerific by Mr G and Khago’s Nah Sell Out.
