FOUNDATION music lovers will have a special treat on Boxing Day, Sunday, December 26 with the event They Ruled The ’80s.
Scheduled to take place at Purchase Lawn, Six Miles, Bartons in St Catherine, the event will see performances coming from stalwarts such as Josey Wales, Lady G, Burro Banton, Little John, General Trees, Flourgon, Daddy Lizard, Johnny P, Echo Minott, Robert Ffrench and Bammy Man.
Presented by Golden Promotions Limited, the event is already receiving a lot of buzz in Old Harbour and the surrounding areas of Free Town, Sandy Bay and May Pen.
“It’s the first time a package like this is hitting that side of town,” commented Kevin Smith of Golden Promotions.
“Bartons is not your usual spot for this kind of event and music lovers are more than happy about having this event in their ‘backyard’,” he told Splash.
King Yellowman has spent most of his time performing on the international circuit and for his many fans it will be a treat to have him gracing the stage.
With numerous hits such as Zungu Zungu Zeng, Getting Married, Bluberry Hill, Mr Chin among others he should have no problem delivering for his audience.
Echo Minott should prove a delight with classics such as Farmer Man, Love Problem, Lazy Body, Uncle Sam Country and the super popular What The Hell The Police Can Do.
The comical General Trees has more than enough hits to keep his fans entertained. They can expect to hear popular numbers such as Ghost Rider, Gone A Negril, 50 Dollar Bill, Mini Bus, Horse Man Style among others.
Burro Banton and Josey Wales can chant up a storm and it should be fun to see them going at it.
