Cocoa Tea for rubba dubb Sundays at Club Riddim
Veteran reggae crooner Cocoa Tea is set to headlinethis Sunday’s edition of the weekly event, Rubba-Dubb Sundays: How It Used to Be, at Club Riddim in New Kingston.
“I am looking forward to performing for my fans in Kingston this Sunday, and all reggae and lover’s rock lovers can expect a wicked set, mi ah go shell down the place alongside King Stur Gav,” Cocoa Tea said in a release.
The event is organised by Yess Promotions and Josie Wales’ Kernel Promotions. Beginning this Sunday, there will be a different veteran artiste headlining the event each weekend. Cocoa Tea is promoting the lead single from the album, a lover’s rock classic called A Love Like Yours and Mine that he says is getting a lot of rotation on local FM radio, and from sound system selectors at dances.
“The song is doing very well, it is getting a lot of love on radio both here and overseas, and there are plans to shoot a video for it in the near future,” he said.
The singer’s next full-length set, Weh De Reggae Deh? will be released next year to coincide with his scheduled performances in London, England during the 2012 Olympic Games.
Coco Tea recently performed at the St Kitts Music Festival alongside acts such as Gyptian, Blak Ryno, Yellowman and Konshens. And in late June, the Ryker’s Island singer performed at a show in the US Virgin Islands alongside Hero, Cecile, Bunji Garlin and Young Jeezy.
